Kahu muka pokowhiwhi - flax fibre shoulder cape: 430 strands extracted with a mussell shell. Natural colouring from the different colours in the harakeke. 3 rows of whatu (finger twining) using handmade muka with with a muka tie and tassel.

Muka kahu pokowhiwhi - dyed flax fibre shoulder cape: 240 strands using traditional dying methods from native tree barks Raurikau (gold) and Tanekaha (brown), heated with hangi stones in traditional kumete, lifted with Nikau stalks, rolled in ash.
